I had both of them, and I can tell that they look the same but they are not the same; you can notice a big difference when you run them.

Skyline was first, and still the fastest. The pipes may look similar, but they are different inside. I don't think the parts are copies of other parts, I know they work though. I especially like the new CVD's. Good Stuff.

The VR 12 is the original. While other pipes do bear a striking resemblance to the VR 12 they do not share the same construction. All pipes performance differences. It is no different for other things. One example which many people are familiar with are the touring cars of today. From an uninformed view two cars may appear to be carbon copies of each other. Only upon a closer inspection can one spot differences and realize the two were not as similar as assumed.

Pipes have the distinction of being almost impossible to distinguish from one another unless someone is willing to cut one open to reveal the insides. Not many people are keen or able to spend x amount of dollars to dissect two pipes to determine the differences only to have the pipes unusuable afterwards. This is why and when assumptions run rampant.

Default VR 12 PLUS

In the next couple of weeks Skyline will be introducing its new Exhuast system the VR 12 PLUS. We felt that we were able to improve on the already successful VR 12 with the VR 12 PLUS. So far we've had great feedback from testing and promising results from recent races including the Airtronics Championships and today team driver Jeffrey Lin won again today with the new pipe at a club race.

I will post more info when the pipes are available.

Will the VR12 Plus come with a conical header?

These are the three things I recommend using from Skyline to enhance your cars performance Lightened two speed shaft, lightened mid shaft and graphite body brace.
Longevity doesn't concern me reliably doe's.
I think Skyline is doing a good job with enhancing the performace of the MTX-4 by offering option parts.

Thanks Robbie for your great response in supporting Skyline's option parts. Comming directly from you is a great boost. Regarding the pipe's in the previous post's , I knew someone a few years back that was testing a prototype RD pipe before they made their own and compaired it to the VR12 back2back and found the VR12 was smoother and faster throughout the power band. Its no fluke why the VR12 has been more popular.
