Default MTX-4 Titanium Middle Shaft

He everone, Akyline just came out with a Titanium Middle Shaft for the MTX-4. I weighed the part today against the stock shaft. The titanium translates into a weight savings of 5 grams over the stock piece.

For more information visit the Skyline website. You can have your LHS place an order for you. http://www.skylinercracing.com/store/P_79.htm

Default Whats up with this ?

What's up with this ? Looks like power racing has the same identical pipe as the skyline pipe. I was at my LHS and they had the power racing pipe for $59 bucks ?????? They look identically the same. Im thinking they probably go through the same manufacture over seas and labal the name on the pipes.

i am not 100% sure of what the issue is but just stating my opinion...

as you know power racing gets stuff from manufacturers and put their name on it. almost like a distributorship kind of thing. they are like racers edge. one time i even saw shoogoo (glue) in a racers edge package and they call it the "racers edge shoogoo".

i personally only like the original

Aren't a lot of the skyline products just rebadged originals? Most of the parts look a whole lot like the ones offered from overseas manufacturers. I know RD Logics does this.

Most of this stuff is made in the same place and just rebadged. The skyline VR 12 was the same pipe as one of the RD logics pipes. RD's pipe changed about 6 months ago and now they are different, but I would bet anything most of this HK stuff is made at the same place. If you look closely you will see that power racing, skyline, 3racing, rdlogic etc have many items that are identical. I don't know which is the original, but my guess is that 3racing is who actually makes most of the stuff.

I know that RD logics get most of their stuff from Nanda in China. I think the pipes are manufactured from yusa in Taiwan I believe. There was a issue of R/C Car magazine where one of the editiors went to Taiwan for a report on stuff from asia and i remember that he went to a manufacture in Taiwan or China I think. There's a shot of one of the workers holding up a pipe in front of one of the manufacturing machines. Where ever or whomever the pipe is manufactured or distributed, the pipe works for .12 motors.

i consider the VR12 from Skyline the "original" because they were the first one to come out with this particular pipe. i believe i saw RDLogics with the same next, and then a number of lookalikes after, with this power racing being the current one.

so whatever it is, i like the VR12 pipe from Skyline. the performance is great but you guys know that already.
