Mike,
This is not totaly true. The light weight 1st gear is a hop-up and is lighter than stock.

Why is it a must have? I ran the MTX-3 for two years with out any problems.

Of course you didn't have any problems with the car. I've alway ran mine stock without any problem either. He wasn't implying that there was something wrong with the stock mount. Maybe he's endorsing the product because he noticed some improvement after it was installed.

Default Various hop-ups for the MTX-4

I just completed my MTX-4 and I must say that it went very well together just like any other mugen product I supported and marketed. I was looking through the other thread ( MTX-4 ) and noticed alot of racers using skyline products and other various " hop up " items for thier rides. I really enjoyed looking at some nice MTX-4's with all of the " hop-ups " and I give major props to those who have them. My question is, what hop-up items are worth getting if any. In the past, my cars were pretty much stock and I did fairly well at the races. Now, if there's a hop-up item that will give me five tenths of a second per each lap, then i'll take it .

Most of these items are not going to make the car any faster but will beef up the car quite a bit. I recommend the thicker shock towers and for speed try the lightened first or 2nd gear housing.
