Every engine guru on here makes the fastest longest running motor on the planet, and all have there opinion on how to mod them, and from what i see they all have there following of people who swear by them , and most of them dont live up to there
claims ,,,, one guy posted his o.s cvr would blow away any jp mod out there ,and his buddy was on here backing him up!!
others claim there stuff will run 7-8 minutes and beat any mod motor, one guy told me his car would do a wheelie at fifty mph when he pulled full throttle,,,

well my OPINION is that Maxy and Murnan make some of the fastest motors around

Maxys are all around fast and have good fuel millage ,no it wont run 7 minutes but it will finish a qualifier!!

Murnan has brute power and top speed but might lack on the run time from what i see at our state races !!! (might)

there are many variables on everyones claims driver ,track size ,nitro %, weather ,
This is my opinion and i have had a motor from most builders on here from Maxy,Murnan,Dennis richey, palmaris ,jp,mugen,
rbmod ,RB rody,sirrio

so if a guy tells you his .049 outruns mario rossi 1/8 scale and runs for 8 minutes hes either full of B.S or hes racing on a mini Z
track against my 2 year old Daughter driving an 1/8 scale !!!
( dont have a daughter )
So pick your stock or mod motor but dont be surprised when its not the answer to all your dreams and you think well maybe i just got a bad one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember this is my OPINION and will not be the opinion of 90% of the people and engine builders on here . Flame away !!! LOL

Hi to all,

Can you please share your experiences on how to know when to replace the parts of your engine, like piston etc... what are the signs that im having an engine problem.

And also, if you are kind enough to share how to know if there is an air leak, performance wise.

Thnks in advance...

Actually, we didn't dyno an RB Mods. The name is confusing b/c it sounds conveniently like RB Products from France...what we did dyno (as you've already seen in our last issue) is an RB V12 Rody modified. It pulled 0.95HP and was very strong.

If legit engine modders want to discuss having an engine dyno'd, email me or Derek.

Thanks.

StephenB,

In that issue of the dyno'd engines, there were no jp's or novamax's or even the new mega's? But more importantly, what is the estimated hp loss due to the rotating wheel used in the test? So, for example, what is "X" in the following equation?

X HP - (Drivetrain losses) = .95HP

Also does the mugen x12 have more aggressive timing (similar to the Rody) than the other engines?

Thanks.

that would be great if the engine modifiers would agree to send you guys motors to be straped in the the dyno. they should also send the recommended pipe that works best with thier engines.
