can the foam tyres get bad? i think i read somewhere they can dry out or something. how can i tell.

they can dry out only if you dont keep up with them. spray them with wd-40

also store them in a ziplock bag with as much air pushed out as possible. The air will cause the dry rot.

Does anyone on this forum know of anyone that has tried to run the same 26 or 28mm front shore rated foam tire on all four corners? Any pros or cons of what you have witnessed?

If the tires are already open, keep them with as much air off them as possible.Keep them in the dark. And when ever possible buy G.Q Tires , they come in a sealed plastic bag, and will stay fresh as long as you keep them there. (Cheap plug I know!)

Hey slot machine. It was not that bad. I agree with keeping as much as possible from the elements.

Twister Tires are always fresh. We have tires made every 3 weeks. So you are always guaranteed to have a tire that is no longer than 5 weeks old.

i know about keeping them in dark and in something that will allow very little air in it.

im just woundering how can i tell if the tires are dryed out and what do you guys mean they are dried out (like does the rubber dry out or something?) and what will wd-40 do?

yes, the rubber does dry out and without the moisture in the tires, they lose their traction characteristics, like a softer tire(which usually has more moisture) will give you more traction. but if that tire dries out, it loses its qualities. and also, the tires can chunk, as in when the car turns, a chunk of the foam will come off because the tire is dry and cracky. the wd-40 will re-moisturize the tire, preventing moisture loss, thus preventing loss of traction qualities of the particular tire.

Regardless of what foam tires you decide on, keep your tires in a zip-lock plastic bag with as little air in them. I wouldn't reccomend treating your tires with any kind of oils when your storing them.

I did towards the end of the season. All I had left were front tires,
I ran 30sh. in the rear and 32sh. in the front, I TQed and I was almost 2 sec. per lap faster than second. I don't know if it was due to the tire size or if it was just my day, but it worked fine.

If faom tires dry out being left out in the air would it help to preserve them in a vacuum pack package. We have one of those vacuum pack machines for food, if I put the tires in a bag and sucked the air out would that be of any real bebefit?
