Default Mugen vs. X-ray

I'm thinking of getting back into nitro racing. I've been looking at the following kits price of both kits $349.99;

Mugen MTX-4 and X-Ray NT1R

Which is the best kit for the money?

I,ve had both models and both are very nice .I prefer the NT1 a bit more ,just a little easier to work on .Mugen parts are slightly cheaper then the Xray parts You can,t go wrong with either model.

While both cars are very capable on the track, the XRAY has less issues - i.e. MTX-4 stripping second gear problem

I would go with the NT1 .... But Which one is better suited to get you the parts that you need.

Check out which one gives you a set up booklet, access to 100's of set up sheets

Go with the XRAY ... you'll be glad you did !

just another question to others, do you think an old nt1 full race version or new nt1 r would be better.

Well I just got a mtx4r on February 3 2012. I couldnt decide either so i think you get the Xray and keep each other updated. I will post pics soon. Wish I could paste from my iphone. Built smoothly and im not sure about the defects of driving yet since I haven't driven it yet.

You might want to stop by my website and read the MTX-4 section.

I do feel on mtx4 if I need to get to the front or rear diff would be hard to get to due to the amount of screws to be removed but parts are cheaper

cant really compare the 2 chassis cause the 4r has been around a good while & you cant compare mtx5 cause it still needs a little work i had the 4r good car just outdated still good though NT1 makes you change your driving style being more aggressive
