Those will do however I've had lots of savox servos fail in the heavy GT car and buggy so I've gone back to Sanwa. The perfect servo for this is the SRG-BX on LIPO. It's awesome.

I've run only 10 liters with my GT and burnt up 2 Savox 1268's (25KG). They both went on the exact same way. EPA's were always fine but when they get hot they suddenly fail. The gears are still fine and when they are cold again they work. The moment you put them on a load they start jittering and not responding anymore. Either a partly burnt up engine or potentiometer I guess.

I might have found the culprit though as I mounted the steering\servo without the distance plates so the bottom was too close or slightly resting on the chassis. The chassis is the heatsink and vibrates like a lot causing the servo's to fry up early. As said they both work when not put under pressure.
I now run the savox 2290 WITH distanceplates...See how that holds up....

The 1268's are only coreless motors and are not up to the job of the heavy cars. The 2290 is brushless and so should be much better. Yes, it's very important to have at least 0.5mm clearance between the chassis and servo bottom.

Thx for the advice...Then I got really bad advice from the local shop promoting the serpent rtr telling me the 1268 was more then capable of handling a 1/8 GT.

On paper then yes but in reality not so much. I had to use savox 1268's initially a few years ago when the class was starting as it was all I could get locally and was in a rush at the time. Lost a steering servo after about an hour of track time. Replaced with Sanwa SRG-BX's which are now on their 3rd season without one single issue. I haven't tried the brushless savox servos but I'm certain theyll be much better than the coreless units.

Have you tried highest servos or know of any reviews?
I also have 2 x Savox 1268's laying around. How much stress would go through the throttle/brake servos? Reckon I could get away with them as throttle/brake and use my other higher powered Savox servos or upgrade to the sanwa that you have for steering only? Or would you recommend all around?

Hi, no I haven't personally tried the highest servos but have not heard anything bad about them so can't advise on those. You would be surprised how much work the throttle/brake servo has to do as well but it doesn't suffer the jarring action that the steering servo does and so the Savox may well be fine for throttle/brake.

For sure the Sanwa is what you want for the steering as it'll outlast 10+ times longer than the Savox 1268. Of course I'm a bit of a perfectionist and so having a different steering servo to throttle/brake servo brand would do my head in LOL but that's just me!!

Here is the 4 chamber exhaust from Hypex we have to use in the netherlands on some circuits.....works perfectly well with the 41032 Novarossi manifold.

Note: I cant post URL's due to some stupid ruling in this forum,...you have ot have a number of posts before you can add URL's

Which graphite grease to use...? I have never really look into it until I saw the manual saying using GRAPHITE GREASE between the pinion and spur ring gear on the trans...? Hudy is what I see that is popular and I use the AE black grease in general....what else?

Also...between the outdirve and the dogbone, anyone actually apply the "Anti wear grease (those grey looking sticky stuff grease) for it...? Also, between the 2-speed outdrive for the front and back bone....

Just use regular black grease on the pinion and ring gear. Any brand will do. I personally use Arrowmax black grease. I use the same grease on the dogbones and CVD joints. Basically the same grease everywhere I need to.
