Loosening of the grub screws especially in the drive drain seems to be common to almost all brands.

Part of the problem I found, is that the cub screws used often are of a cutting ring type at the low end. This does give only a very small contact surface on the shaft normally hardened. If there is only a tiny wear it will start to tumble and loosen.

The type of cub screw used for that application should have a flat end.

Grinding the end flat and using Loctide 290 (green) will cure the problem, but you need good tools like Hudy to get them out again.

Use "Red" Loctite on the grub screw and you'll never have to worry about the diff pinion coming lose on its own.

Thumbs up

The car will turn in more with lower diff cst. I run very short tight tracks often for club racing and 300K is perfect with the V2 gears. It also works well on larger tracks like TZ and GLARC. I haven't used 300K at TZ but I have ran at the track and that's exactly where I would start. I ran 300K at GLARC at the Airtronics GP and the car felt really good.

The higher cst will give you more on power pull out of the corners, feels more point and shoot if you get what I mean. Car will follow the front tires with 500K. Best thing to do is try both and see whats best for you. if you are looking for a specific handling characteristic we can help you with that too.

If you have the V1 gears go with 100K front for lots of turn in with 30K rear.

Just ordered some Xceed, going to start with 200k and 40k. Just have get some 300k and 500k as 200k is the highest they make.

Thanks

Talk to the racers locally, there are some places running Roar rules with 5 port engines and some running full open mod engines. The Is on Novarossi has been fast and Murnam does a great job in modifying it.

So my suggestion.

Grenade is correct ( I can't believe I just said that) the Ison modded is a great engine for any track. You can't go wrong with Nova Rossi.
