Ok, I removed the clutch assembly, cleaned it all up, scuffed the hub and pads, degreased the oneway, adjusted the clutch tension screws, added set screws and now it will not shift at all?? Is there a certain way that the shoes should be oriented, with the long side trailing or leading?
do you have alot of gap between the bell and the pads. if it doesnt work again can you post some pictures so we can all look at whats going on.
do you have the pads? all the way in about 4.5 turns out....

yes the longer sides should be on the outside of the rotation for quicker reaction. it you put then the other way around they still work but they engage very late.

2012 ROAR Region 9 Onroad Championship
The ROAR Region 9 Onroad Championship was held on 27th and 28th of October 2012 at Gulf Coast Raceway (Mikes Hobby Shop) in Porter, TX. The weather was slightly on the cold side with temperature low around 40s and high around 60s.
GT8 (Super GT) class
On the qualifying day racers were trying to find the best setup for their cars. Several racers were struggling with their cars’ rear end not “hooking up” so I spent some time helping anyone who needed assistance as well as provided some base setup tips and troubleshooting for other cars at the pit side. As far as my own car, I was looking for some more steering at mid corner. I made some adjustments throughout the qualifying rounds and tried various tires that would give me the best laptimes and good tire wear overall. As result I TQ’ed at the end of qualifying day with my Serpent Cobra GT as well as my new Sweep EXP 45 ROKs. During the main my engine was slightly too rich thus the car was not consistently shifting to the 2nd gear. Extra pit stops were needed to adjust the engine setting. Finally the car was on its way to victory and got me the 1st place win.
I had a really good time and after talking to other Serpent GT owners the consensus was that Serpent Cobra GT is a very good car in terms of quality, drivability, and durability. I am very proud to be part of the winning Serpent team USA.
I love to make new friends and meeting old ones at all the races that I attend. A big thank you to all my sponsors (Desotoracing, Sweep Racing Tires, RadioPost radio, VP PowerMaster fuel, Max Velocity, and IGT Hobbies) and Mikes Hobby Shop for hosting another fun event for us racers.
Until next time,
Andy Liu “Flyin Hawaiian”

It was a good race weekend at the 2012 Gulf Coast Grand Prix!
It rained overnight Sat so the mains got started later due to that, but we got it in!
Gt Results:
Paul Coleman (TQ) 89 30:10.205
Bill Sydor. 86 30:14.034
Chad kiffe. 85 30:03.857
It was great meeting new GT8 drivers! Andy Liu was awesome and Bill Sydor was such a funny dude, and great driver! Bill and me where about 15 sec apart for most of the race until he had a tire wear out towards the end! Andy was running 3rd I think until he had motor issues I believe. It was great being back racing again! My Serpent was Freaking great!
Thanks to Mikes hobby shop for putting on a great race.
Special Thanks to Serpent and Desoto Racing!

I had a great time running my Serpent this past weekend. That car keeps getting faster and faster everytime I run it. Want to thank Paul Coleman for some setup tips this past weekend. Making those changes along with the correct tire made a world of difference. I look forward to running with you more next year.
