I will double check the meshing, could have been too tight, metal to metal contact caused too much heat wearing out the gears prematurely

Hey what's up it happened to me after a few races, they had a little over 12 gallons if I remember correctly. I had the shims on the wrong side but I also was using a grease that was too thin and it didn't stick to the gears.
Now I have the two stock shims on the same side as the ring, and I use either copper grease, black graphite grease or black Moly grease. The black moly grease really sticks to the gears. At the state championship 2weeks ago the car ran good during the entire main and there is no sign of wear on the gears post-race.
If your mesh is a bit loose I think the gears will last a bit but will shave down and strip eventually. I think that the grease does make a difference.
You can make sure you don't overtighten the bulkhead screws.

Edit: Another thing I noticed is that it helps to make sure you tighten the diff screws evenly (not too tight, they hold in place really well because they are thin threaded) step by step to make sure the ring is perfectly flat on the diff housing...
Also, when you change the Ring/Pinion I think it's safer to change the diff housing along with it.

Default stock helical gears

Hope this can help.

I have 3 stock never been run diff helical ring and pinion sets. They were removed from OFNA's GT-V2 Pro Chassis cars and replaced with the optional high speed straight cut gears. We need the taller ratio for the electric version. They are 43/10(4.30) gears. I assume they are the same as Team C gears. OFN60715 is the part number.

$20 shipped(USA continental) per set. Paypal only.

PM if interested

The car looks sick Marcus! Your really doing it right! I really enjoyed your build series with all the helpful tips. Where are you getting all the team c parts? They are hard for me to find!

The "BEAST" is finally done! engine is broken and and base setup complete, it will be sad to see her go but She is just fulfilling her destiny!!
Waiting on a few odds and ends to be delivered and finish cutting gears! Awesome looking car and somehow after all of the break in and tuning not a single scratch on the car! Thats CRAZY!!

Test mode!
