I agree, was just stating my opinions for me to buy the new XRAY when it comes out. I know i am not the only one in the States with this ideology. There are multiple guys within the year that left Xray to race for/with another manufacturer . We can sit here and talk about new specs, parts and features but if the car can't win without Ralph at the wheel, people aren't going to buy it. I have my xray and love it but i am seeing other on-road chassis make there move, will xray make their move and hold that top spot?

I'm easy down at the 1550g with Futaba BLS451 servos and a lipo.

With 5 cells (http://www.lrp.cc/en/products/vtec-b...aight/details/) and just a few extra "g"rams I can go up around 1750g.......

From the looks of the pics on redrc, it's going to require at least the following new items from a 2010/2011 (I'm upgrading from a 2010 WE, so I need the new chassis). From the description, the chassis is new for 2012 as well. So, chassis (maybe), top deck, fuel tank, front bulkheads, bulkheads in front of the motor (where the rear of the top deck mounts), servo spacers for the throttle servo, steering assembly?, maybe new steering servo mount assembly. I'm not sure what else needs to be changed on the frontend, but with lower bulkheads, it seems the upper A-arm mounts are also lowered, so it may require a different upper bulkhead and maybe different upper A-arms? Oh geesh, it's looking like an expensive upgrade. I may have to buy a 2012 kit and take all the lightweight stuff off my WE

Sorry...the only different parts in the kit are the radioplate which is flexy in the front end and the chassis that is milled where the engines sits, just to lower it. The rest of the car is totally the same.

Does anyone know if the 2012 NT1 was designed with the new minimum weight in mind? If the 2012 NT1 is essentially the same as the 2011, 2010 versions, then how difficult will it be to meet the new weight standards. I'm at around 1730 grams with my 2010 NT1, and that's using a small receiver, low profile servos, etc.

I spoke with the guyz that were in Toyfair 2012 and they talked about nt1 2012 with Martin!!
The thing is that the nt1 2012 is playing with flexibility and the gravity center!!
More details in few days

I`ve been able to get my NT1 to under 1600 gramms without much effort.
This with lightweight parts readily available from Xray. (and some from the red team). Still to go the last 50 gramms i still have some options open. So all in all xray is already on the right path to get this weight limit. I posted some pictures on the EFRA rules thread. So no worries mate

Why?, Rule changes are for 2013, NOT 2012

Because someone asked it.

The benefits are obvious i think. This year you put the weight as low as you can, central in the car so to get a low CW and better turning. Just better handling. DS can explain it to you when he attends the 1/8 nk. Or maybe we will meet in the 1/10 Nk. I was already driving the car this way last year, but don`t tell everyone.

Best regards Martin.

In addition i`ve weighed the receiver box, about 26 gramms and with a lightweight body saving aproxx 15 grams and shortening the wires about 4 grams this gives you approx 45 gramms weight loss. With the weight already 1595 gramms this will leave 1550 gramms. And still some options not used like
- titanium arm axle from CAP a few gramms
- lowweight tranny spur holders a few gramms
- plastic diff gear from xray (are cheap) a few grams

Thank you xray. i am already done for the new rules with my 2009 NT1.
Who needs the red car.
