If you’re running the Force .28 engine, you have plenty of torque to play with. You can spruce up the engine with a new connecting rod and ceramic bearing to allow it to spin freely & survive the longer straight sections. Don’t know which pipe set you’re using, but something that will aid to increase torque output should help too.

I believe you can also run as tall as a 17T clutch bell with some 1.1 clutch springs to allow for a higher “stall speed” before engagement and reduce the possibility of engine “bog”. This should allow you to run similar to European Rally Game racers on your track.

Another thing you can consider is aerodynamics. A more efficient body design will allow your car to cut through the air with less parasitic drag or wind resistance, resulting in less strain to your engine during the mains where it counts the most.

Hope it helps, maybe we’ll get to race with ya’ll next time.

All the best!
Thank you for the advice.

Connor thinks like an electrician: that if he whines and whines and whines enough, someone will give him what he thinks he needs just to shut him up !! But he'd have to have a job to be said electrician. Sorry Connor, you're suffering the glorious condition of youth, by having two appendages on your head called ears and little else inbetween other than pipe dreams. I remember it well Hahahahahaha

Connor....

If you research the prep for a marathon race you'd be
adding a new set of tires...$$..and I've seen those guys
in the pits between heats..I wager a few of the cars installed
new clutch bearings..$ etc.or those parts got replaced soon
after because there are 'expendables'. There's no getting
around it.

Ask C_Trickle how long his new <$200 engine lasted. And ask
him what the 'runaway' cost him for his new car.

MAD916 has cleared up the Connor mystery for me.....thanks.

That engine failure could have been multiple things, but A Main sent me out a piston/rod/sleeve under warranty. So all is well.

But had a lipo rx die on me, all in all cost me about $40. But really that was just me being lazy lol. I knew better than to try to push that pack that far.

But Connor, don't get discouraged. GT racing can still be done on a low budget, I did my first season while putting myself through college working part time!

Any who, back on subject! Can not wait for this race! Me thinks it'll be one of the best this year!

I sent a PM to Connor full of Encouragement and support. the Kid is quite the wheel for his limited time in the sport... and we will continue to support the little sprout as long as he starts listening to the advise from all of our IGT and the other experinced racers on the forum and stops trying to re-invent the wheel....

You are correct Mr Trickle is will be a great race Rick and his family have one of the greatest tracks in the nation, and I belive can't speak for them but they are looking closer at the current motor rule....

Connor, we still love ya. Just so you know I threw over 200 bones at my car for the enduro, Bearings, shafts, gears, clutch shoes and still had a blow out. To all the other IGT racers coming to join us in our lovely piece of nitro heaven, Lets go through one more year of $200 rule. Remember we only have about 6 full-time IGT racers, but it looks like it might double this year and we can expand our horizons for the coming years. Lets put this to bed for this year, we have all heard your requests. COME ON JULY!!!!

Connor.....if your as good of a driver as MAD916 says you are,
I probably should not say this but you could borrow a lawnmower
and mow up a storm up there in your 'neck of the woods'.

Jeeeeepers, a 13 yr. old gave me fits during my first yr. of GT.

You are one lucky dude to live in that area, near the 'Disney World'
of race tracks and such an incredible pool of racing talent to offer
all the help they do. Make it work for you.....but if you are a 'cracker
jack' driver, I get 5 lap head start!

Best of luck....

Post Really?

i got a few pm's and just answered them... I was out of town this weekend...

I ran a 149.99 motor last year.... I put 3.5 gallons thru it... BEFORE the race last years GP race! No Lie!... I did not put a rod in it...nothing... I just ran the piss out of it! and so did a few other people!

AND yea it puffed at the GT
but if last years attendants remember... I was one of the fastest guys with my cheap motor and 50 dollar pipe....I take silly pride in saying.... I didn't do shit to that car all year but run the hell out of it!!.....

This year, I stepped up to the plate... $199.00... that's right! Going big!

So I'd like to know if I can run one of my other engines. I was under the impression that the engine list was "suggested" engines that the locals were running.

Also, how will tech'ing the cars be handled? Is it get tech'd before you race or just the top 3 get tech'd?
Guys,

The list of motors, are suggestions....that list is a year old...
I think most would agree that a Novarossi motor P3XS (i have one of these) is a good motor and I didn't have any carb issues with it either...i am sure the organizers and will look at the motor rules again next year.

A couple of things i want to get off my chest... and it is a big chest, sexy too....ask Gus.

The rules stand.. save your time and efforts.
IF you are not going to make the EVENT, why are you complaining in the first place?
Last year it was tires, somebody whined and whined... and never ever considered coming to a race here...have any of us Northwood guys ever complained about rules at another track???
Come on, we had a great event and a great time, come back and lets show the next group how much fun we can have.
NOW this topic is dead, .. You will all now talk about what we are going to put in the red cups!
I say we contact Doug Amende and mix us a batch of his APPLE PIE.... I will buy the first Gallon!!! Ask some of the guys from Nationals about this tasty delicacy, this is a real tasty treat that will knock you on your arse!!!

In fact, I will raise the bar in proper HillBilly fashion! if its ok with Rick
I will pay $50 to the best Red Cup recipe of the weekend...
i nominate the judges to be..

Mark Day, Richard and Rick St Cyr. and Brian Bodine! I heard Brian is us a hoot when he has had a few drinks!

As in any Timezone event...3 entries to make a class!

Thanks Clete...

Your little Nova Rossi was very impressive last year. I liked the Axials but they are disappearing. I may have to try a Nova this time.
