10:00 AM, Sunday/tomorrow, surface evaluation at Cambrian Plaza. No track prep, no spray, no boards, just chalk marks and fun.

Roll call so far: Rich, Jim, Pete, Jason, Billy, Mike, Matt, Bill - bring a car so we can ALL make decisions on future layouts, areas in need of repair and general layout orientation.

Feel free to join in just gonna be a really relaxed joke filled half day. I'm sure Matt will all have us laughing. I'll have the Hooligan so well have a spot to chill out, listen to tunes and you know do motorhome stuff.

Who else is planning on dropping by? Post up

Hold on there big boy - love the excitement. We are NOT racing. The track will NOT be set-up. We are just going to run on the asphalt to assess future layout feasibility.

I doubt we will be there for more than two hours...just sayin'. You are welcome to come be a goof-ball standing in an empty parking lot playing with toy cars -just want to be sure you aren't disappointed there is NO racing tomorrow

Trust!! I know I was just excited about there being a new place to just run on. Either way it will be something to look forward to in the future and I'll save my bonzai run for the grand opening. Have fun manana! (that means tomorrow, they left out the mexican N on my keyboard )

Eleven folks showed up to review the area and the surface. By consensus the site is a go. Facing east: will be a 200'(straight away) with a 100' depth. Surprising amount of surface available. There is one crack that MAY have to be filled. We will be working with paving guys for pricing.

The 1/5 Scalers have an area, separately from the treated surface, that is available for them to run if the treated area doesn't suit their racing needs. Bill Margolas (sp?) and Tony Foskett reviewed that area and seemed pleased.

We are going to have the surface washed and we will run our first event (open, free practice) the last weekend of Febuary. After the practice day we will meet again to discuss the next plan of action. Subjects for next discussion: Race Schedule created, Board party(fix boards and yearly equipment refurbishment), Financial review.

This first open session will give us a sound idea of what can be expected as far as racer turnout and involvement. Based on today - I think we have a shot at success.

looks good , the surface will be good on wear ,we will be able to make it work
once it is cleaned, we used to run 1/10 there , we have some layout ideas
that will fit nicely in the space

The new location is exactly where RCCAR used to run a few years ago!! We used to have literary hundreds of entrees each month. So you know the racing surface will be good!

I still remember 10+ yrs ago when there was the HPI Challenge at Cambrian.

Anyways, just picked up a 1/5th FG and really stoked. You guys won't consider adding a 1/8th GT8e class?

If there are enough entries, I'm sure it would be fine!

First practice day will be the 26th of February!!!

Rams will cover the cost so all racers practice/ race for free! As Rich Browne mentioned before we will also discuss this year's race schedule and work out any minor issues or concerns with the actual track. So your input is greatly appreciated.

We will be racing on the corner of Union and Camden at the Cambridge Plaza in Campbell. See you there!!!

That is an excellent date. Gives a week to relax from going to Florida and trying to adjust to the time change!!!

Looking forward to seeing and testing the new track. I like to see the RAMS take on two date for the California Series this year. 2 in Sacto, 2 in LA, and 2 in San Jose will make a great California Series menu.
