I've tried these before. They're reasonably priced but I find them inconsistent. you can use them for practising but I personally don't use them for races.

I orderd some speedmind tyres form Hong Kong and they sent me those Sato Seiki and they where the worst tires I have ever ran and cost me the race in the winternats. Don't do it!!!

Strange, I bought a set of these to try and loved them. the wear is very good, and I felt I could go into corners faster. I thought htey were the same as the Mono tires, but I guess not. Im happy with them.

I believe they are the same as the Monotuning tires. Sato Seiki rims and foam are made by Speedmind although if you compare the foam, the ones on the Sato Seiki are slightly harder than the Speedminds i.e. 37 on the Sato feels like 40 on the Speedmind dish tires.

Give Twister's a try. You will not be dissapointed. Tires are priced great and are very strong and consistent

but they are nearly double

i get the speedmind for $8.75 for front and $8.25 for rears same with Eleggi, Power and fast tires

although the Twisters rim design is pretty cool!

Thanks anyway

I used those Sato Seiki tyres and they are one of the best i have had. Very low wear and excelent grip. I still use the 28mm rears

Cheers

Hi

I started a thread here to discuss all makes of foam tyres. The result was pretty mixed as some tyres perform on some tracks but not on others.

Mainly you have 2 typres of tyres. GRP rubber and JAP rubber. Ellegi, Power, Jaco and Fast along with a lot of others use GRP where Sato Seiki, Mono tuning (Rebadged sato Seiki) GQ and Speedming use JAP rubber (I'm sure this is not its technical name!)

GRP USUALLY! have high grip with high wear and also a tendancy to chunk at the edges where JAP have just as much grip on certain tracks and lower wear rate with less chunking.

Most tyres, GRP or JAP are made up of 3 rings of different compounds glued together to make the complete tyre. Yokomo (i think!) make a tyre where the rings are glued on top of each other and not next to each other and these are more expensive but i have heard very low wear and high grip.

In the end its what works on your track. I almost always use GQ 37s all round when out track is warm and dry. 40's in a longer final.

Cheers

Are the rings layered or are they radial rings?

Cheers
