Talking Serpent 950/950r thread

I need to revive this thread. Serpent has new stuff for the 950/950r such as:

Front Universals
Ceramic Thrust bearings
Mega ZX21 Race Motor
Also there's a front spool developed by Lee Muse at gasrccar.com

I would like to know reviews on these parts.

Yeah I emailed Lee of gasrccar.com and he says the locked front will work with the universals. That should provide great accelaration out of the corners. The Mega engine is only $270 at Brooklyn Hobbies. Good deal since it's made from the Legendary Picco. Let me know if you're going to upgrade.

it took about 6 tanks to break it in...the idle is sweet...no bad spots anywhere on this engine....i think serpent has a winner.....the bad part is that no glow plug came with the engine....i guess i was spoiled....

I just got a 950 with no engine. First time racing 1/8 scale so what engine would you suggest for beginner?? I was thinking of OS .21rg. Low hp buggy engine but I thought I would get used to setting up the car properly and the handling before I got a REAL race engine...any comments...

I think next year will be a great year for 1/8 scale racing since there's lots of new kits out there.
