I just bought a used 950r in great shape...

Couple of questions

1. Which setup system should I look at

2. What parts should I buy for backup.. Parts that tend to break...

3. Which starter?

Thanksb

1. A Hudy 1/8 scale setup system will do fine.
2. I'd get front suspensions, rear suspension arms, and a extra clutch parts like thrust bearings, shoes and flyweights.
3. Almost any universal starter that can adjust to 1/8 onroad.

Good luck.

Where do you guys get Serpent parts? I need a fuel tank for a 950. I ordered one from Ace but the package seems to be lost and they don't have any more in stock. Thanks

Hey Mo!

I've ordered from Robert at ashfordhobby.com. You can also try Lee at gasrccar.com. I'll see you at RAMS.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I need a backup plan incase things don't get cleared up with Ace. Need to have that tank before the next race. Being about 20cc short with the stock PRP tank really sucks.

You can't go wrong with Serpent parts. They're high quality.

Serpent has lots of new hop ups. They just came out with a rear adjustable roll center. Finally the front universals were out awhile back.

I do not think you will be having any problem from Robert at Ashford.....I have been ordering from him since Serpent Impulse period.

Heya Rookie!

I use two Futaba S9402 non-digital servos in my Serpent Veteq with great luck. They are fast, strong, and dependable.

Those are good servo, I know, cause I have 2 for my TC, but I only use those for Steering....throttle is a little bit overkill, thanks for the info.

P.S....I too get a brand new Veteq 02 just to fullfill my dream. Probably will never run that car (cause it is brand new) but it will be the shelf queen....LOL

Default Battery

What is eveyone using for a battery pack? I am using a Serpent rechargeable one (750 mah I think) but I am a little concerned because it's so small. I am using 2 digital Futaba servos.

You don't need a high speed servo for throttle/brakes. A high torque servo is needed for the holding power on the brakes.
