The only diff I believe will fit straight in are the Mugen ones.
But what about internal gear drive ratio. Mugens are 2.53:1 ratio, that means he would have to recalculte all his drive ratios, pulleys, spurs, pinion gears. Serpent's 2mm wider (1mm at each end)?? where, at casing, at outdrives?? seems to me that with a little work it would be simpler to adapt.

I know what you are saying. I believe the Yokomo pulley will bolt onto the Mugen diff (not 100% sure).

I tried putting a Yokomo solid axle into the Serpent and the work involved was too much to make it worthwhile. But definately, if you wish to spend the time making the slightly modifications required (dremeling and lathe work) that the Serpent 705 diff will be a better choice.

Compared to my GT-4, the R40 changes directions and handles chicanes (s-turns) better. R40 is easier to work on except for taking the engine out. I think the GT-4 is lighter than the stock R40 though. In general, fairly similar.

Im not switching ... just got that idea cause i have a NIB Yokomo GT42WL and some guy over here offered money for it so i thought maybe i can invest on another brand kit to test ... but i think and think and think and honestly i dont want to sell my GT4W2L ... its still a very competitive car side by side with Serpents and Mugens ...

And Manticore, about the new kit, i dont know, but MY IDEA its that we will have it early 2005, not before ...

the battery is mounted on the left side or opposite side of
where the battery used to be. the receiver is still located
on the same area but i mounted mine next to the throttle
receiver just like the kyosho or mugen.

Im planing on building my NIB GT4W2L (right now im running the same kit but with some mods) and i dont know if :

- Use the stock radioplate.
- Use my actual radioplate, a side-tank (old model) penguin rc modified so the batt pack its on the right side with wuick release home-made system.
- Use the new model of the penguin rc radioplate and try to make a quick release system (or leave it right stock).
- Buy a Hardcore Racing Titanium Upper Deck Blue Yokomo GT4 (+ titanium chassis ?).

opinions ?

I stay away from titanium, except when it comes to rotating parts that cant be replaced with aluminum parts. I would get the Penguin center mounted tank upperdeck.
