Questions?? converting sc8 to onroad??

Hey guys!!

So I'm thinking about selling my sc8 to help with the funds from my mugen mbx6t mspec. But I've been thinking. I love the way on road cars look. So instead of selling my sc8 how or could I convert it for SC to on road??

If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. I would like to know what I would need and if you guys know where could you please tell me or post a part number please. Also what bodies would fit?? Thanks all.

I would love to see MBX6T to on road. To convert it you will need to put the MBX6 buggy arm, turnbuckle & IGT2 body. Then replace the shocks & see how its going to perform. You could install 2 speed later.

I still don't see how the body would fit on the 6T since the chasis is longer on the MBX6 yes
Doug I would look into the rally version to get an idea of what you would need to convert your sc8 to an on road version

I did this and it works extremely well there are some pics here in this forum. I would look for them but I'm boarding a cruse ship right now. I used HPI, OFNA, Traxxas, and Thunder Tiger parts for the 2 speed.

Ask in the GT thread.

I think, honestly, it would require some pretty serious modding, especially with a 2-speed.. I think though you have to maybe clarify what you mean by "onroad". That could mean anything from "running it as is on the road" to modding the hell out of it...

On a small track it works pretty decently as is I find.. Here's mine with no mods, except some thicker sway bars and slick tires I think. And the shocks are pretty soft - set up for the offroad track just outside from this hall..

On a track this small I don't think you need a 2-speed.. Even 20m longer would have been OK, but on something bigger you would.. I want to run on this track again, with the suspension slammed, and stiffer oil and springs..

Jneg, would love to see yours - especially video.. After the cruise..

I'm back, here are some photos of my project:

I had a little trouble with the Traxxas parts so I raced more than half the qualifier with only 1 speed but still was fast enough to make the A Main in 6 place. For the next race I will have to beef up the tranny some more but it works great.

Interesting..

Nice paint-job on the body.. Though an SC10 body would probably fit the car better..

If I was using the Buggy the SC10 body would fit but since the SC8 uses the Truggy chassis I had to use the SC8 Body. I have both buggy and truggy as well as SC10 so I did measure them. Here are an action shot:
