Default Do I need fan ?

Is it necessary to buy a small fan to help cooling the engine heatsink ? Or is this crap and embarrasing?

I'm planning to add a small fan and 9V battery.

If your engine is tuned correctly and your body is well ventilated a fan isn't necessary.

The negative effects of a cooling fan would outweigh the benefits...literally. Like J240z says, if your engine is tuned correctly and you have enough ventillation in the cars body then you dont need a fan. A fan would only ad unneeded weight to your car and weight is the enemy, we are all trying to get our cars as light as possible.

J240z.. you a nissan/datsun man huh?

My LHS said the extra fan is not needed ( if tuned correctly ) because JP FX engine has big heatsinks on it - 11 fins.

Your photo heatsink has 11 fins too.

I'm just being paranoid because I do computer overclocking for indoor hobbies . Computer overclocking needs below 40C or sub zero temp to achieve higher MHz.
