Default thread lock

yup, thread lock will solve that. Just don't apply too much, and please use the appropriate tool in screwing back the pinion,

I am new to this hobby. I recently purchased a HPI RS4-3 SS off ebay. The car starts up perfectly fine but when I pull the trigger, the car revs up but goes nowhere. Can anyone help me???

djhorn - this sounds like it could be a clutch problem. Generally if the car revs, but doesn't go anywhere - the clutch shoes are usually toast.

It's a good car with a lot of Hop-ups. The Stage-D kit is really trick and helps it handle better. It's not the best race chassis ( not in the same league as an 710,MTX4,etc....) but a good car none the less. Another good option is NTC3 RTR.

if you will go back and read the postings on this thread, you'll find the answer to your queries. The rs4 is my first car and i have no plan of trading it. I learned a lot about nitro RC on this kit, but i don't race it except on its HPI class which i earned a lot of trophies. But to race in the open class is different, it is not at par in the open. The new rs4 with an 18 engine is a strengthened model than the previous. They have solved all the complains on teh first one. You dont have to hop it up.

Ive been thinking about selling my rs4 3 and get an ntc3. Im very new to this hobby. Im starting to get the hang of the rs4 3 but after reading so many negative things about it I thought about selling it and gettting the ntc3.

so would anyone advise to do it. or stick with the rs4 3. btw Im planning on going to the track as soon as i get more confortable with this hobby.

Yeah, don't go by what other people have said online...sometimes you won't get those problems you hear about. I have an RS4 3 and I've had no problems with it, just broken hubs due to my fault. lol. I like it a lot and wouldn't trade it for anything else....I'd add to my collection, but not take away....but then again...this is all an opinion...lol

Both are shaft driven. Keep the 3, then when your ready to move up. Goto a belt car.

kyosho v-one-rrr wc
mugen mtx-3 prospec
r40 hara edition

All good choices , just go from there. Figuring you have an hpi the r40 should appeal to you more.

Also the ntc3 is a ball diff I believe in the rear. While you have gear and probably never think about it. The ball diff on the tc3 on the otherhand needs lots of maintenance.

You can race with the rs4-3 and the tc3. Thatll get you set for it then when you step up to a nice current pro car youll be more seasoned and able to use it better.

Werd. I see the RS4 3 as a great starting platform.
