Default R40 Gearing Potential?

I'm considering using the R40 for the RC Car Action Speed Challenge this summer, but i'm having trouble with the drivetrain gearing.

Looking at HPI's site, it lists:
73477 PULLEY SET 23T/22T/19T/18T

Does this mean I could run a 36T diff pulley and 23T pinion pulley for the drivetrain?

nope. the 36 is the front diff and the 46 is the rear diff. the 1st gear pinions are 15,16,17,18 and the 2nd gear pinions are 18,19,20,21. now the first gear spur gears are 47,48,49 and the 2nd gear spur gears are 43,44,45,46. hope this helps you out. The r40 is internally geared for a med to large track.

pinions from Mugen fit guaranteed, with the gears I'm like 95% sure that they fit. They look identical, but I never tried myself...

Thanks for all the help guys. I actually decided to stick with my nitro rs4 and just spend the extra money and get it to my standards.

I found out the R40 has a lot of issues with clearance and there's no way a .21 would fit in it.
