Default This race is why I race R/C!

This race was awesome!! The vibe was great and the competition was unmatched ... anywhere.

I had a great time, the event was extremely well run. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but great things to say and to all who didn't get a chance to make it out. Put it on your calendar for next year! The pits were jam packed with all kinds of new goodies that I wasn't allowed to take photo's of. The Capricorn tire machine was a cool piece of engineering.

Then there was the factory help ... you could get help from Picco, the Xray guys, Mugen, Shepherd flew over a full team from Germany! Uriah Murnan was there helping w/ motors as well as Kevin Hutchison representing Contact Tyres.

There were drivers from all over the world a privateer came from Norway, qualified in the B, bumped and finished third in Sedan! There were drivers from Brazil, Peru, Norway, Germany, South Africa, Italy, China ... literally all over the world!!

Like I said if you missed it ... make plans! I manaegd to get a couple interviews with some of the drivers and manufacturers (thanks Sandy!)) which I'm uploading now. The audio isn't that great so you'll have to sit close to your speakers but ... it was the best I could do w/ my cell phone. Next year I think I'm going to upgrade to a real camera. People say they like the cell phone thing but .. it's really hard to get good audio at the track.

Either way some photos here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Skyroc...03373003062665 I'm uploading the full res ones and will post later along w/ the links to the videos.

Dale are the new bodies available through HRP and other distributors yet? I'm being stalked by some of the racers who saw them at the track last week .

I would argue, it's being covered all over the place and one of the few tracks that have a free online race feed running all day. My friends that couldn't make it down were all very happy with the ability to see, hear and comment on everything in real time.

RCTVLIVE.com was also there talking to folks and getting video and there were countless facebook and rctech posts. Not sure how it could have gotten any better coverage besides begin on ESPN =D.

But like Tony just wrote, it actually slows you down now.
+1

I had a new sauce being tested and the grip on the track got to the point where it was pointless to run it. There was so much grip it was slowing the drivers down and those who still used sauce used something with less aggressive bite than what they used during the colder days like Sunday or when the track was a little greener earlier in the week.

I think it's a moot point at this stage, people use it and some don't. There were drivers in the A w/ crazy fast lap times that hadn't sauced at all. There were all kinds being used from traditional electric stuff like Paragon and Sxt to the more exotic stuff like my black magic and liquid gravity.

But here is bottom line: talk to anyone at the race and they all had fun! Even the ones (like me) that things didn't go so well for hahahaa.
