Go for Max. Base out of Novarossi engines and they are one of the good ones. Althought the price may be a little high, but it is well worth.

any vzb based os motor...preferable vzb speed or a mugen ninja...extremely consistent, easy as hell to tune and holds one for ever, parts are cheaper cuz the new long stroke (crappy) ones are out, you can throw a $30 ebmod head button in it and instantly get 20% more runtime and power from it...I run them fully modded and easily get 11 mins in truggy and have yet to put one of my fresh frankenspecs in buggy and try yet....simple, affordable, and outstanding performance...a ninja or speed crank in a vspec with the appropriate rod is very hard to beat for the money!!!!

VZB, VZR motors, yes they are reliable, easy to tune, but slow engines.

I have these VZB and VZR engines since 2007. VZR needs frequent change of Piston Sleeve. These engines dont like high temp, keep it below 120 celcius, and the original bearings are better to be replace with boca bearings.

Yes, they are cheap, but they are too slow for racing competition in these days.

I suggest : OS XZR, novarossi sydney kanggoroo, 35 plus 21, ... or novarossi entry level engine with 7 ports.
