If you just want a basher then I'd say the HPI, if your lokking for something you can upgrade to a more competetive level I'd look at the NTC3 or the GT-4 RTR-2. The 4-Tec is just a straight line car, good luck trying to get that thing to turn.

man if you can pay up to $500 for a car, just get something like a HPI Type SS and buy alot of alloy parts for it and still be under $500. anyways if you want a really fast RTR this is one that does a little over 70 mph out the box, it is a CEN CT4S: http://cenracing.com/cars/ct4s/ct4s.html

The Cen is a fast car & cheap as. But it doesnt handle. An alloy HPI will look pretty but it is like putting sexy underware on a fat chick, you still wont want to play with it

Stick with a NTC3, or the LD3 or CD3 are OK if thats what your LHS stocks parts for.

oh, ya, that thing with the .21 and the three speed. its insane. wouldn't want one though because you need a nascar track to run it.

Cool r/c car

My hobby shop says that the CEN ct4s is hard to set-up and repair because the parts for replacement for this brand/model is very hard to find.
The best rtr for me is the Traxxas Nitro 4Tec. It is the winner of the Car Of The Year Award.
The next best thing for me is the HPI RS4 3 which is highly durable.
