Default Kyosho DRX Subaru/DM-1/IGT2?

I'm a big Subbie rally fan and I'm getting back into nitro...just miss sound of a well tuned nitro motor.

Reading around everyone seems to prefer the DM-1 but the price point of the 1/9 Kyosho DRX Subaru Impreza WRC and also the scale look of it really appeals to me. I'm no racer just occasional weekend blasting around parking lots, gravel fields, loose sand/dirt. Does anyone own one and what other bodies will fit this being a 1/9 scale?

If I get the DM-1 or IGT2 I know the COG is a lot lower being a true on-road racer but I have yet to see any mods or true rally car bodies on them.

I turned my Slash 4x4 PE into 1/8 rally with custom mounting of an original IGT Subaru WRC body...but sure miss nitro!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Btw my budget is $500 and I have my own radio equipment/fuel/glow plugs/and lipo igniter. I'd also prefer a pull start.

I saw the DRX at a model fair last year, and was impressed by the size and quality..

BUT!!... It doesn't have a 2-speed. So basically, the other two cars will be TWICE as fast. I got the DM-1, and it is fun.. Mine's been pretty high maintenance though, and a much bigger investment than I wanted.

The DRX is so damn cheap over here, I'd just say, if you like it, get it... Needs a 2-speed though IMHO...

The DRX is more a drifter I think. The IGT2 is much more capable, but needs a few mods from what I hear. It's also discontinued I think. The DM-1 is not all that easy to get parts for IMO.. At least compared to my offroaders..

Much better RC than all of the above??.. Associated SC8....

Yup that's the only downside of the DRX...single speed.

Wow I didn't know DM-1 parts are hard to come by. I heard Kyosho IGT2 parts are getting harder to find too.
