adam use no spacers and put the steering ball on the front of the steering servo arm on a KO. KO's are tight thats just how it is.

Goodluck Motorman with that bellcrank conversion... I tried the same thing last year with the help of a very good friend that wish to not be mention... There's pictures of it posted on the Trinity G4 thread about Aug /Sept 2004. We were alittle farther along then what you have, but just couldn't get it to work properly... Then came along the current swing rack update to the G4 and I've been using it instead... I really wish you luck and I hope your conversion works well. The main problem we had was 1, we couldn't get enough steering throw and 2, the servo saver we used was a tad bit to large... The bell crank design is something TM should have done in the first place, but the swing rack setup is better then the slider system and I haven't had to many problems with it.

the steering throw is the same as the current rack system on the setup board. Ackerman is very close also. There is lots of real estate now and the bump steer seems to also be lower as the tie rods are almost 1/2 inch longer. I have confidence it will work out well. I spent quite a bit of time making sure it was located the right place in the chassis fore and aft, and setting the height of the tie rods so they are level at ride height.

Dennis YGPM.

BTW, what Xray part are you using? I'll see if I can get it working for the McCoy race.

Default Steering system conversion

Dennis it looks great!! Can't wait to try it too. It looks like it was made for the car. I'll have to show you my rear bearing concentric set-up for the 18tooth brake pulley and 63tooth belt.

I just bought one of these cars for myself!

Can you guys tell me if this car has any overdrive built in?

like, if I cut tires, I cut the rears at 60 and the fronts at 59?

No overdrive on Mongoose, the internal ratio is the same front and rear, if you are running everything stock, you should be fine running same tire diameter
