you need the new s class parts. It must have one of the very early ones. I didn't think there were anymore of those out there. we only got a very few that way.

BoCal... I'll be at Crystal park this weekend... I was at REV Tuesday, but really could'nt do much there as the wind storms from Monday did a number to the track as far as traction... Chatted with Paul Colman and joked about his car... lol... I left REV at about 1:30pm... I would go to Crystal park Today, but the track is closed during the week days until Mugen get through with it.... BoCal, PM me when you get a min... Ivan Dickson... No problem.... Oh, there is only 1 chart and not two... If you're having any problems figuring things out, let me know. As far as the clutch spring question, I've used the Yokomo soft clutch spring with out any problems... Motorman... I also use the 4mm chassis, it's more stable and in one of those rare occassion's... lol More durable.

rcoldman
you can purchase the pinion but you may have mesh issues with it. It is smaller diameter and coresponds with the smaller diameter s class second gear spurs. even though the s class spurs are the same number of teeth the gear is physically smaller so the engine can be adjusted closer to account for the smaller 18 tooth first gear.

Unfortunatly the new grey gears for second require the new 2 speed housing to go with them as it is smaller on the od for the new spur. the Id is the same and the same 2 speed shoes are used.

Default Has the 'goose changed spec?

I bought a Mongoose but I didn't get some of the things quoted above....such as:

G4 S-Class 2 Speed 2nd Spur Gear 45T. PN (502251)
K1489 G4 S-class Hard Coated Alum. Light 18T Clutch Gear

I didn't get any extra gears. I just got the 19/24 46/51 gears only. Is this a misprint or a running change to what's included now? If it's what's included now then the car is even better value than the one I bought!

Where is the best place online to buy on of these, RDLogics.com? I may be getting one of these after I save back up the money Uncle Sam took from me. I was going to get a good deal on a Prospec, but due to the taxman, I had to pass. Any spares or must haves to pick up with the kit?

The TM spring kit and the K-Factory rear brake bracket with belt tensioner are the only must haves. The graphite rear shock tower and front graphite brace that ties the radio tray to the front bulkheads is very nice piece as well. RDLogics.com is a good place to buy and you might actually check Ebay as well. i believe there are a couple of places selling the Mongoose on Ebay.

Motorman- I just ordered a Mongoose today from Rd directly, look forward to building and running it! i will be running this in the Heart of America series, maybe one or two Midwest series races or great Lakes challenge also! Looking for build tips, needed upgrades, etc, I have read thru all these posts, know about flywheel issue, tighten down servo saver, etc.... Did I see you mention a fuel tank issue? Not sure about that one... Have you tried the 26 tooth side pulley option with smaller front tires at all? I am wondering about shock springs, I have a complete front and rear set of Associated springs and I know they fit other shocks such as Mugen, etc., any thoughts on useing these springs? One other Question, Your guy (Nick?) that put o run in at the Winetnats that would have been 8th, was he running a RRE motor, box stock, or mildly or wildly modified? Thanks, I'm sur I'll have more Q's later!

A few more questions for Mongoose- G4 owners, How small can you run your tires down to on this chassis, taking into account adjusting downstops properly and such, and what kind of "balance" of tire hardness front to rear does this car tend to like,i.e., same hardness front to rear, or one shore harder or softer front to rear in general, I know every track is different, just looking for a general idea on tire balance...
