Just take your time and it will be all good. If you run into any hang up post a note here and we can advise you. I just assembled another new kit and one thing I did was shorten the lower front control arms at each end a hair so they were freer on the hingpins. they seem to be a squeek long. Just file off about .020 on each end.

I have the RD Logics/Team Infinity 312TB. The first thing I did was take off the carb riser, as it looked like it had the potential for air leaks. Now the big "ring" on the end of the carb hits the brake mount in my LD3, and the radio plate in my MTX-3. What can be done to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

Roy
don't know if I'll be there or not but I will be supporting the team guys via phone and with power. The winternats will consume 2 weeks starting next weekend. one week racing one week relaxing and complaining about what I should have done different. LOL

F150
Not much, put the riser back on thats why its there. The carb sits low in the microcase engines. thats just the way they are.

Thanks Motorman, but I must have tossed the riser. My temporary solution for the LD3 was to install an Ofna carb from a Force .12 "red head". A little trimming of the radio plate was all that was needed to fit the engine into the MTX-3.

One other minor issue with the 312TB is that the new RD Logics Turbo II pipe set would not fit. A small amount of material had to be removed from the top of the header where it mounts to the engine before it would fit flush.

It appears to be. Looks like the early boxing in the picture (when we still shared the Team Magic Box) the new boxes are green and black and say Mongoose on them. However I don't know why they have it listed as a Team Magic Mongoose as The car should be listed as RD Logics Mongoose G4 ?? Since their selling the combo I assume it is.

Ask them what gives??

F150 we'll take a look at that thanks for the info.

Nils I'm working on a simple calculator that you can use to calculate any gear ratio final drive and rollout on the mongoose just by plugging in the numbers. I should have the Apha version done I hope by the end of the week. If not It will be two weeks before I can get it published after I get back from the winternats. It will be a free download from the RD site.

The beta version will also calculate the optimum gearing for a desired track length based on gear ratio, tire diameter and track length. It will be good to get the car in the window very quickly.

smaller spurs and bigger pinions will give more top end.

Default Steering Link Popping out

Need Advice on how to keep the ball cup link between the servo and the steering rack from popping out, i tried the team magic ball cups but no success. should there be any better way to address this would be greatly appreciated. another thing im still undecided if i should just take away the servo saver since at high speed corners the play tends to take away most of the response from the steering.

I fired up my Mongoose today with the R3 engine aboard.

The problem I have is that the clutch flyweights on the K factory clutch seem to be able to pop out the sides and wedge between the flywheel and the backplate of the clutch pad. This causes the clutch to lock up and gives me direct drive to the motor and when I brake, of course the engine cuts out.

Any clues?

Cheers,

Mike.

Default clutch sticks

hey zoom i had the same problem when i first put mine together ,
if the clutch is set-up right ,as far as spacing and it spins freely
the clutch disc is sticking on the three pins on the flywheel clean the holes up with a reamer or small dremel bite and make sure the disc slides smoothly on the pins and your problem will be fixed
