Default need clutch help

im new to this car and im having centex issues. no matter how its shimmed one of the 3 shoes pops out and stalls the motor. its getting lodged between the flywheel and plate.

RDlogic tech support said the plate could be warped. i tryed another one off a customer car and 2 shoes poped out instead of the one.

this is a brand new car that i cant even get it off the bench. rd is selling me k1410-4 new plate. funny how i have to buy new parts before i could drive it. i dont think this will solve the problem.

the clutch im thinking is the latest one it has a blue and grey pinions. any sugestions would be greatly appritated. is there another brand centex peeps are using?

thanks
aldo

Check your shoe's pin holes, bore them if necessary for smooth operation. They are a littel small, mine was any way( make sure the shoe goes back & forth smoothly). If you use the red spring, you need to go in more than 0.5mm which the manual suggest. I went w/next spring up, I think it is orange & set it flush. I think the clutch shoe's holes are the problem, they are too tight & do not go back & forth smoothly.

Ok, After some further research i noticed that the Mongoose (K1487) comes with a different chassis to the Evo III (K1479). So i am going to take a stab in the dark here an say that in order to run the UFO clutch on the Evo III i would need to purchase K1492 S Class gears, K1487 C/F Side mounts & would i need to get a different chassis.... I think i am mega confused now, time to hit the sack

BB
Anyone?

critter,
If by shoes you mean flyweights (centax style has only one shoe). It must be shimmed with too much play. It should not be possible to have the flyweights come out far enough to get stuck when properly shimmed. Re-shim to a bairly detectable amount of end-play. Adjust engagement with adj nut & if necessary, different spring.

You don't need anything special to run the UFO clutch, you can use the same gears non s-class, or if you want you can use the s-class also.
Chassis does not matter.
Remember that if you use 1st pinion s-class you have to use 2nd spur s-class.
2nd pinion & 1st spur are the same.

it looks really trick, doesn't it?
but i think it is an absolutely UNnecessary hop-up. not to mention, expensive too.

the chassis is not a weakness in G4.

there are other better ways to spend ur money ...

Default K-Factory

Does anyone have the part numbers for the K-factory red flyweights, red clutch shoe and aluminum clutchbell for the UFO clutch?
