IMO the Spektrum DX3S. If you have more than one car this radio new comes with two receivers, one of which has telemetry so you can hook up a temp sensor to the car and see it on the radio as an example. Or you can pic them up used pretty cheap. I worked at a hobby store geared towards bashers and this is the radio I sold most bashers when it came out.

If you only have one car, and dont car about what the radio can do aka all the extra menu options. Then one of Spektrums cheaper radios is great also.

I think "Bashing" has nothing to do with getting a good transmitter. Most of the time I do see people spending tons of money on their car and still driving a cheap RTR 27mhz AM transmitter. OK, there is nothing wrong with 27mhz AM (we have used it for ages) but sometimes cheap Asia made stuff do not care the quality and performance you want it to be.

To one the transmitter has to function (which most of them just do), to others also the transmitter must have impressive looks like a digital display and lots of shiny buttons but to them all, the transmitter has to fit in the hands like a glove. If your hands and fingers are not stressed you will drive more steady.

I think it is wise to go tot a club or shop and try to "feel" them all.

the shop I worked at never had airtronics radios. We never had much luck with them. Spektrum makes a cheap 99 dollar radio that is 3 channel, that works great. your call.

The post above is right also. you want to make sure if feels good in the hand. for bashing I would go with whatever feels best

DX3E, great for the price. Bonus: Easy use with Losi bind-and-drive vehicles.

I can tell you now, the Tactic TTX240 is an awesome radio for the price. It doesnt have any inmpressive features like Airtronics or Spektrum have, all it has is an adjustable steeering throw (or whatever you call it, you can make it steer a little bit, or a lot)
All that, and a receiver for $80 or so, and the receivers are very cheap as well. Ive never had any glitching with it, and the 4 AA batteries last for sooo long as well.

Not trying to push this to you, but its a freakin awesome radio for the price
