And THAT is the truth.

Its not just the driver either, its the driver's abilities in driving, temprement, setting skills and racing tactics. Hara seems to have it all nailed.

What you say about the G4?
I say that if driver's were allowed to pick their cars (free of their sponsors), after testing all of them, they'd pick the G4.

It's no secret TM has been the worst as far as support, distribution, sponsorship, etc.....which is why Serpent and Mugen are still the most "popular".

Sure, ask all the drivers what car they currently think (i.e. paid opinion) is best. Let's see how that will go:

Salven--Serpent 710 (sponsored by Serpent)
Swauger--Mugen MTX-3 (sponsored by Mugen)
Cyrul--Kyosho FW-05R (sponsored by Kyosho)
Hara--HPI R40 (sponsored by HPI)
Baker--Associated NTC3 (sponsored by Associated)

You get the picture. Those are PAID opinions, if they don't say that they don't get paid. Period.

You're confusing subjective results of paid drivers and their very well supported factory cars with the objectivity of which car is the best performer.

I say again, if Serpent had the rights to the G4 (and supported it, sponsored it, distributed it, etc...), the 710 would be no more.

WOHOOO!!!! I hope i'm smelling some parts support for this car in the U.S.!!! Wow i'm excited, i hardly ever drive my car since i don't want to break the damn thing. Rcnuts made parts easier to get but still, i hope my LHS will carry stuff for this car. Think hobbytown will?

Anyways, i'm new to RC cars but i must say i can whip this car around and handle it very well for having a front one-way. I just had to learn how to drive the car more "fluently" since there isn't as much breaking with a front one way. I still need to get a new clutch since mine is almost shot. I'm looking at the new clutch on ebay now.

I still like the old steering system, i have had a few problems with it but man, when its working its smooth as can be. I'll probably have to get the new steering system here in the future.

Good luck RD Logic, hopefully you will bring some parts support here to the U.S. and don't forget about RCNUTS he helped keep the current G4 users happy.

Thanks,
Mike

I was merely suggesting Roy to give it a try and ask around for help in the 710 forum which he has not done so before this. FYI, I know Roy from the now defunct non-HPI forum when he was driving the Serpent Impulse.
I tried to put it up for sale. But even at US300 including a brand new Nova NSR there was no taker. What the hell.I'll just keep it.Part of me says don't give up,the other part says it's wasting my time.

Rodney
Thats an interesting question not sure all of the politics in there. Thats not my area of involvment in the company.

As far as G4 parts and Kits one of the things we certainly need help with is getting the word out that we have them. If you know hobby shops that aren't doing business with us let them know about us. RD is still very small and we have little interest in getting into business with the big three major distributors and this is what many of the manufacturers do. That method just passes on cost to the end user. It is something RD has always avoided and will continue to do if possible. consequently there a great many hobby shops that don't know about us or what we have. we are always looking for dealers. Big and Small

Just 1 question, have you asked all these driver what they would rather drive (if not being paid) or is this just a guess?

Please correct me if im wrong but wasnt the g4 out before the 710 and if so why didnt serpent copy all the great things the g4 is good for?

I dont think iam getting confused with subjective results of paid drivers, If the G4 was that good dont you think that it WOULD be well supported, distributed etc.

Please dont think iam trying to start a flame war here iam just trying to say that all these cars are different and according to your driving style each car will handle accordingly, I really do hope that RD get it together with the new G4 and it is a real hit, which iam sure it will be.

So lets call this a draw and all cars are equal
