I am also looking for the setup specs on the RRR from this event. I have surfed the net and my mouse hand is broken but have found nothing. Please share if you find any info. Thanks

a major difference in the 710 is this. the front tires have almost 2 ounces less weight on them than a mugen. the rear weights on the mugen and the serpent are very close. This causes you to severly compromise the car (my personal opinion) to get it to properly steer on power (the front of the car gets light)and off power the car transfers weight slowly to the front tires so the steering gains significantly as the car slows through the corner. all of the sudden the cars front traction climbs to the point the car hooks and flips.

at the nats we added weight (a ton. ray literally had an 1100 mah battery pack strapped to the front bumper of his 710 and nothing in the battery tray and his car handled better than any of the guys on our team. yea it sounds stupid but it worked fantastic) to the front of the car and stiffened the front dampning and used harder front tires to help controll on power push(weight transfer) and off throttle traction roll(hard tires). this is how we finally got the car to rotate decent while still using a one way.

just my .02
take it as you may.
That's about 56 gms! Denis, you measured this with a set of weighing scales?

Can't the transfer of weight be controlled with set-up so that it goes to the front faster but gradually instead of coming on all of a sudden?

At the Nats, did the other team members also had traction roll problems?

I'm interested to hear about this. My SWB car although quick and agile suffers from traction roll when the grip gets up in a day's racing.

My V1R used to have a nasty habit of falling over its front wheel when off power in to a high speed corner, and no matter what I tried I never did find the answer in the 30 months I drove that car.
I now run the FW05 which has the opposite problem, you cannot get enough weight transfer to the front corners, so it understeers on all corners, but at least the understeer is constant and predictable.

My RRR just turned up.

I will run both cars around Ashby if the rain ever stops this century and compare the times.

I ran the FW-05 and the RRevo around Tibshelf and got better times with the EVO! but the front shock support had broke on the FW and I dont know how long it had been like that.

I am going to run Lola with 5 port and touring with 3 port but dont know what car is suited to which? I'll have to see when the 3R is built.

Cheers

what are the new classes? I know there are ruours of a touring class with 3 or 5 port engines but dont think anything has been agreed yet.

When is the AGM?

As I won the open at Ashby i'll be defending this but will try to run a 3 port touring class as well

Cheers

Vote on changes to IC Scale Classes will be on that day.

Defend your title? you should be more sporting, I pulled out of the club Rubber championship to give someone else a chance.
