Default savox

You can run them as long as you have a 60A esc or higher. If not, you will need to run a capacitor as there is too much power drain and your esc will shut down sporatically.

Im using the protek regulator for my Savox's. You should also be concerned about your receiver as well. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Ok I've ran the 1257 straight lipo in my 8th scale with no problems. My throttle (Futaba 9452) servo got warm but not "hot". I went back to a nimh just to be safe but I'm going to try it again this coming weekend with different throttle servo. I will report then.

Funny thing is I run a 1s lipo in 12th scale and now in an electric truck for my son. I use a 2s lipo straight to power RX and steering servo, so the servo gets 7.4v. No problem at all.

Spektrum states they're RX can take up to 9.0v and that's what I'm using. Won't dare try it with my Airtronics RXs though.

This will shorten the life of the servo and is not necessary.

True. LiFe is the safest option. I have other reasons for running the lipo in my nitro cars. The lipo is actually 15g lighter than my LiFe. I've ran 2 indoor seasons on the same servo powered by straight lipo in my 12th scale. Paid 50 buck for the servo 2yrs ago so got my money out of it if it goes.
