The weather out here is absolutely perfect for racing!! We got here yesterday and got on the track and it is glass smooth, the layout is fast and challenging, traction is outstanding.

Race #1 is just about to kick off and the pits are kinda quiet people focused on their cars.

Check out some of the pit action:

I'm uploading photos as I take them (there is WIFI!!!) check it out here:

Nice pic of Foster Whiting with his GT in the pits!! Looks like he was holding his own in the GT class. His sister Loran was doing the same in 200mm Touring. Man, make me wish that I was there instead of working here in the heat of Dallas, TX (another 100 degree day).

I believe they're stopped for rain. There was going to be a scheduled break right after the 2nd round of qualifying, but the track decided to try to run as much as the 3rd round of qualifying as possible. The weather radar showed there was a giant green blob heading straight for the track. When I headed home from the track, it was still dry and there was no rain on the drive home but the area the track is in usually gets a lot of the rain in the Chicago area.

The Rain stopped the quals at the 1/8. I had planned to get some pix of these guys once mine were done but ...

The day was fantastic my car was dialed thanks to Shawn Davis and the 5 Nines racing team hahaha. He spent about 2 hours on the phone wlaking me through setup and what to do in case of .... Worked out really really well for me today car was quick, have a little clutch work to do and some motor tune and i'm ready!!

The competition was super stiff, I'm sure these guys are glad it's qual points because everyone has had one or two glitches w/ their car (especially me ahahah).

Look forward to more 1/8 photos in the am, as well as a quick write up.

Thanks Teresa for helping out taking photos while I was on the stand and marshalling!!

If you didn't make it this year put this race on your calendar for next year it is definitely worth the trip!!

Hello Racers,

Today was my first trip to Leisure Hours, and I can not wait to return again. I do want to thank Scott and the rest of the Leisure Hours staff for making me feel welcome. I came down to play with my camera, and photo you the racers. I took over 1600 photos today. I have some teasers posted below. I will be working on getting the best photos posted tomorrow. Sadly, I am not able to make the trek down Sunday for the mains. I am sorry my lens will not be there for you.

You will be able to view the photos here at my website. I hope to have them up before the event is over.

Thank you,

Snowy
