i usually put something through those 2 holes (Like a small Allen Wrench which are usually supplied with rc kits) then i get some pliers and place it carefully over the teeth of the gear (Make sure you don't damage the gear). Then i get some smaller pliers and i put them on the inside of the clutch bell on the Allen wrench. again being careful not to damage the clutch bell. There are probably better ways of doing this, but this way i can hold the clutch bell in place while i can remove the pinion with the other pliers.

Mugen makes a pinion gear tool which I just ordered. Can't remember the part number though. Think I found the number off of tower's website.

Genious! Worked perfect!

Though now I have an allen key with an "S" bend in it! All good! Thanks.

VZW040 is the tools you need for the pinions.
Even better to change pinions is the plastic pinion wrenches from Serpent for the 710, it's a perfect fit.

got my EVO kit today, going to see what is new with this version tonight....... after i come up with a very good excuse that i had never used before, my wife is going to demand an explanation.
