Peter - Thanks for cleaning that up bro!
Aw, forget him then! Going back with Josh winning... wait he just switched to Orion motors.... What about Paulie?

I have never used GQ so I cannot comment. They are not very popular down here. The Serpent/Jaco tire is available for both 1/8 and 1/10. If you get the chance, I would recommend you give them a try as well. I believe the Jaco foam to be the best I have used. I would also recommend you switch to the VSW007 universals. There is almost nothing worse than chunking your last set of 2mm offset rear tires and not being able to get another set (purchase or borrow).

Let us know what you think of the GQ's and the price. I paid $23. for a set of 4 Serpent/Jacos at the last race.

I used GQ for some time and the rims are really strong. The shore rating is always off and harder than stated. Also they take at least 3 laps to warm up and will cool after 30 seconds so you are always going to be behind after the 1st lap of the final. As they come on they grip well and wear really well so you can make up time later.

Best for 30min or longer finals. Don't use for qualifying

Cheers

I've already switched to zero offset, so I'm good to go. I can try the Serpent/Jacos. Have you got the specific part numbers, that way I can be sure to get the correct ones.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Good too know.

It will be interesting to see the difference in hardness between the New Arrows and the GQs. Maybe they'll be close.

The air temp is usually in the 80's and with summer coming, it could go into the low 90s. We're allowed 4 min practice/warm-up laps, so I'm thinking that might help a little. We fuel up about 1 minute before start and then make our way to the start line. If everyone lines up properly, we usually start within about 15-20 seconds.

litespeed-dom/Mike Ellis: Anything else I should know?

I usually run 37 fronts and 40 rears. I want to try 40s all the way around next race. 37s all the way around has a less steering than the 37/40 combo. The 37/40 combo allows me to drift when I want to without inducing any oversteer or bringing the back all the way around. I am running a one-way.

Thanks guys.

Before I get zapped by someone, I'm double-checking with Paolo M if Tosolini is driving for Serpent or just driving a 710 for the race. I wish Serpent would update their Web site more often, even Leo Virtusio's name isn't on the Web site yet.

Oh man, everyone switched, what's going on!

I need to spend more time, pay more attention to what the pros drive then my own driving!

Please let me know how the 42 rears work and what traction conditions you had. So far I have not tried 42 on the rear, not sure our traction is good enough for that. Sure would be cool to have front to rear wear the same!
Later, Mike
