Hmmm.. In the WCE manual, Page 34, left hand side, the 55T 2nd gear is listed as VZ114-55, (0.8M/55T) (RR/Evo), 2nd Spur Gear (0.8M/55T) (RR/Evo.). You should double-check this just to be sure...

i weighed up my options and its either:

1)keep relacing the switch everytime it fails which means taking the car apart and re-wiring it or

2) put in an extension lead and just unplug the battery from the extension lead.

i know both options are a pain but which one hurts less?

I updated the Web site with the build tips. Please review it and let me know what you think or what else needs to be added.

Thanks!

has anyone tried standing the throttle servo up ?
might make fore a more direct brake/throttle feel

might be able to lose some weight from the extra linkage ??

what do you guys think ?

Looked at the site and you have done some great work. I appreciate what you have achieved so far and your site can serve as a great reference tool for everyone interested in the RRR and it's evolution.

It is possible. You need to use the servo and receiver mounts from the RR evo and you also need to slightly modify the upper plate. The brake/throtle response becomes easier to set it up, because you avoid all the extra links. Then the receiver goes on the side. However, you change the balance of the car and you affect the CG (slightly). I have no idea how lighter it becomes but generally the RRR is very close to the limit, so you need to be carefull not to go below it.

I understand what you are doing and why you are doing it (I replaced the switch in my Serpent 3 times) I just want to see how you are doing it. I know that pulling the wire out of the receiver every time is not good but I just don't know how to handle any more wires. You are probably using that tiny KO receiver aren't you.

What I did was make two small extension leads. One runs from the reciever to above the steering servo. The other is shorter and runs from the connector on the battery to above the steering servo. The two extensions that come out above the steering servo have Mini Deans plugs on them. There is no possibility that a marshall can turn the reciever off.

When I had my 710 I used a KO Propo on /off switch with some clear heatshrink over it. The switch was great and never let me down. It did have one fault and that is that because it monitors the battery it will also discharcge the battery whilst turned off.

Confirmed, that is the right part# for the 55T 2nd gear spur.

That's the HPC track, located in Subang Jaya, that's where the LRP Nitro Masters is gonna be held, tentatively postponed to the 28th of May. Like the first time around (which was rain-washed btw), the organisers will be expecting quite some entries from SG; there were around 10-20 who made it to the race last month i think. Come and play!
