The difference in my car between Rubber and Foam is less than ˝second a lap which is why I would consider it, also I make less mistakes on Rubber over the longer runs.

I think the definition of the 4 wheel braking as stated in IFMAR is the use of independant servos for each wheel for braking like what is done on 1/5th scale.

IFMAR prohibits this and so should EFRA automatically.
Here are some IFMAR rules about brakes:

5.1 The class run will be the 200mm Nitro Touring Car which will be 4WD. Only one (1) brake, working on the central power transmission, is allowed. No second or individual brake system(s) for front and/or rear axles or single wheels is allowed.

5.27 Not allowed:

4 wheel brakes.

Liquid cooled engines.

Hydraulic systems.

More than two (2) servos.

No more than 2-speed transmissions.

In 5.1 they say one brake only, but in the 5.27 not allowed bit they say 4 wheel brakes.
Now I would translate that as 2 wheel braking only.

So that means that Team Kyosho should be disqualified in the Brazil WC for using front solid spool !

Perhaps you need to learn how to drive with foam tires. With foam tires, you can really drive the 1/10th TC to almost like driving 1/8th scale. With rubber tires, driving style will most like be stop brake type electric style.

If the brake is in the middle and not at either end of the car its within the rules regardless of if it slows the front or rears or both.

As mentioned above almost everybody would have been disqualified from the worlds if it was 2 wheel only braking

Cheers

I have chatted to a few today about this, and it appears the Welsh half of me doesn't understand English.

I do now stand corrected.

Now I just need to convince that Japanese Kyosho guy that he was also misunderstood, and that the centre one-way I'm trying to convince them to make for the FW05R (like on the FW04) would in fact be legal for the International market.

Darren Johnson (BRCA Rubber Champion 2002 & 2004) ran with both front one-way and diff today in his G4, his best lap was only 1/10th slower with the diff fitted, but he said the car felt more consistent over a 1 tank run, this would however change over a longer run.

Thought you might want to change gradually!

There was a guy running at Cotswolds today with rubber on the front anf foam on the rear and i must say he had loads of grip and loads of steering!

I might try it for a laugh

cheers

Congratulations to Ron Calangi and his 3rd place at the Revelation Championships today. Ron bumped up from the C main all the way to the A and just got faster as the day went on. He drove the car a total of 260+laps and an hour and 15 minutes.

Great job Ron!

He was running a rex-rer12/palmaris modified. he posted the fastest laps in
qualifying but could not make run time because we did not know his tank was
leaking.
