Second gear pinion does not wear out that quickly. I'd just use the stock ones. If you run at a small track you can get hardened aluminum ones from KFactory and they will fit too. But I think the biggest they have is either 21T or 22T.

Mugen makes steel pinions for the MTX-4 that will work on the RRR clutchbell.

Shooter make hardened pinion from 16-24tooth.

I think you can get them as a set, or they can be brought seperate.

That would work for the FW05R/RR but not the V1RRR. It won't fit the RRR clutch bell and the gearing would be too tall anyway. Check here for all Kawahara parts for the V1RRR:

I believe the first speed pinion made for the FW05R will fit in nicely into the RRR clutch bell (used as second speed). I am currently using the KFactory hardened pinions (20T and 21T) from my FW05R on the RRR clutch bell without any problems.

In the RC World Magazine, Kyosho has already manufactured 15,16,17,20,21,22 T hardened pinions, but most shops in Japan have sold out! And it retails for 630 yen, much cheaper than Kawahara ones!

Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to buy a V-One RRR WC and I had a couple of questions.

Any of you guys run Lipo reciever packs? I've been looking into them and was wondering if any of you guys had any experience.

Also what spares should I stock up on when I buy the car? From scaning through parts of this thread it looks like I'm gonna need rear outdrives, but what else? What are the common parts that wear or get broken in a typical wreck?

Lastly, what upgrades/options should I be looking for? From what I can tell this car is pretty darn race ready out of the box, but if theres anything else that would be nice to have I want to go ahead and pick it up.

Thanks.

1) Rear shock tower

Try getting the Kawahara or Skyline ones.

2) Fuel tank

It leaks (around the joint) easily especially in a collision.

3) Brake Pulley

Wears off easily. Kyosho has already come up with an aluminium pulley. Similarly Kawahara and 3 Racing have made option pulleys as well.

4) Pinions

Get the steel ones from Kyosho, Kawahara and KFactory. The original ones wear off real fast!

These are the only items require extra attention, other than that the belts and etc last pretty long for mine

Good luck!

Have some spare front and rear arms.....as these can suffer if you hit barriers at the wrong angle.
As long as you dont tighten the mounting screws too tight for the fuel tank, it should be okay....I`ve still got the original in mine since February last year, it just needs the tank lid seal replaced from time to time and it`ll be fine.
Keep a few belts, spur gears, and pinions handy as spares and you should be fine.
Cheers

Hmm...so those pinions from Kawahara do work? I just had my 16T first gear worn off, the 2nd gear ones are still in pretty much good condition; am looking for the steel pinions, does ToyKar has them? How bout the Kawahara/Skyline hop-ups, any idea who has those over here? PM me, thanks!
