Ok, I mounted it and there is a 2mm space between the gears, is this correct?

Thanks

Thanks Jeff,
Already bot my christmas gifts for myself, 2 more used RRRs and a mrx4 which my wife still thinks she is going to wrap and put under the tree. (Ya Right). Now I know what I can get for my birthday in a couple of weeks . Only thing I have is the lightweight clutchbell and lightened clutch parts,

thanks
Get the Kyosho FRP Middle Plate......this mounts the side belt tensioner pulley further towards the rear of the car and allows more clearance under the exhaust manifold for the side belt.
Cheers

I made a little extension for the tensioner because I couldn't find the FRP Middle Plate, before that I ground the exhaust manifold to gain some clearance for the belt. That worked too.

The clearance between the gears should be the same as on the clutch, 2mm sounds correct. I'd go look at my car but it is all apart due to a foot of snow outside.

I use the 3racing Middle plate, and that gives the clearance, too.

Thanks for the replies, not first kit I've built but first kit with a two speed and in the photos it looks like they are very close together.

Also do you have the part number for either of the plates, and I will see if my lhs has them, thanks again.

I got mine at rc-toro.com. Don't remember the part number, but it is very easy to find it.
