did the RRR come with 15/20 pinions? and 56/61 spurs
if so did you guys strip the 1st gear spur pretty quickly?

also which one is the over drive pulley? 23T yea?

also may i ask the internal ratio of the car
with the 23T side pully installed and the 24T side pulley installed.

thanks in advance guys

16/21
I have stripped 12 1st gears in 4 meetings, they sit too low to the ground and pick up all the debris.
23T is overdrive, 24T for equal tyres and Rubbers
not got ratio list to hand but the 21T is plenty good enough for a 155ft straight.

I have stripped only one first gear and one second gear.

Check the length of the rear engine mounting screws. The rear ones are the same holes for the engine to mount screws and the chassis to mount screws. There is only .2mm gap between the 2 when tightened so if you have an oversize screw they will touch and not clamp the chassis to the mount and the engine will move around stripping the gears.

Thnak EVO2 for that bit of Lessons Learned after Mendip national

not sure if this right ?

thanks for any help
john
i did exactly what he did so maybe the spur gears could not spin as freely as the pinion gears.
and later checked and noticed my grub screw on that 2 speed hub housing was loose so might have made the 2 speed shaft swing side to side causing me to strip gears.

Thanks ziggy for your advice as well but i run the Vones 3 so im using the stock engine which doesnt use engine mounts. but i know what you mean

cheers guys

Lots of setups at http://www.kyosho.co.jp/web/download...g/index-j.html, their all in Japanese, but if you have an English setting sheet to reference, you'll be fine.

Days racing ruined again.
Another stripped rear drive belt, and this time I had it on the tight settings. also my last order for more rear belts is on hold as none are available.
Guess it was my last race with the RRR as I have no hope in the championship with all these retirements, I'm going back to the trusty old FW05, it may not be as quick on the infield, but at least it gets to the finish line, and is also much cheaper to run.

Are you using the metal rear pulley? I stripped a rear belt today but it was the first outing with the metal pulley

Cheers

Nope, kit pulleys.
and it went so suddenly that the car understeered in to the barriers smashing a front hub and suspension arm (i have yet to check the other bits).
Not sure if I can make the Cotswold meeting now.
