AndyT,
What track was this and how was the grip?
The 35 shore tyres just makes me wonder.

But yes, congrats to Rick. He is a bit good.

ric was running an interesting setup for the final, and his RRR seems to be on rails, but no one could beat simon with the pace he was on.. he was absolutely flying, even being almost a lap behind and catching ric was amazing to watch. i have an excellent setup for a small-medium track with low-medium grip, here it is:

front:
ride height:5mm
camber: 1.5 degree
toe out: 1 degree
springs: silver
front rollbar: flat
shock oil: 50
oneway diff
droop:1mm

rear:
ride height: 5.5mm
camber: 3.5 degree
toe in: 3 degree
swaybar: black
springs: silver
shock oil:50
rear diff oil: 15,000wt kyosho
droop:3-4mm depending on the technicality of the track

body: mazda 6
tyres: GRP 37sh front and rear

this setup makes the car ULTRA nimble but still very stable into the corner, i also found that with this setup only run about 0.5-1mm of split between the tyres, the car isnt taily but has excellent turn in and has alot more of a responsive feel.

35 would have been good to drive on, but even on 37sh tyres i was getting about 2mm of wear per 5 mins, and this track is SORMCC in sydney. as mentioned in my pervious post for the setup( which is for this track) this grip is low - medium, as the grip varied over the whole weekend of racing

yes there are two versions, there is a regular RRR plus a limited numbers edition RRR WC (World Champ), which comes with some extra go faster bits

The track was Eastern Creek (home track of Sydney On Road Model Car Club).
I was initially going to run 40 shore and was quite hesistant to try the 35`s, i really thought they`d be too soft.
Anyway, to my pleasant surprise they were excellent.
I ran one heat with the 40`s, but the 35`s were much quicker, and this was reflected in the times.
The 35`s at the start of the final (15min)were 59mm all round and finished---
Front- 58.1mm & 58.7mm
Rear- 56.7mm & 57.3mm
Cheers
