I haven't come up with a good use yet for the standard seal, but I'm sure someday it maybe useful for something because it sure doesn't work in the tank lid :-)
How does your own made tank lid seal work? With what material did you make it from? I m also having this tank seal problem and
I m replacing it almost every race. Thank god its not that pricey however if I can make the one that will last a very long time I would like to try it.

Default 3 racing 4mm Chassis

Anyone here using this? Will it make a performance gain?

The tank lid seal I made hasn't even looked like leaking. It is slightly larger in diameter and is slightly thicker.

I got some neoprene (not sure of spelling) sheet from a place called Clarke Rubber (they sell all rubber product like mats belting and pool accessories), then punched out some new seal from that.

They look like an original item just better.

I've been told that the replacement Kyosho seals seem better than what is usually supplied with the tank but I guess there seems to be a bit of a variation problem with them.

Hope this helps.

the kyosho replacement fuel tank cap seals are identical across their fuel tanks. Just add one more seal on top of the original when the original seal become thin. After time, the double seal sits perfectly inside the cap and no more leaking cap.

I wonder why is it performing poorly, is it because its a bit heavy or too stiff?

Thats becuase the chassis is supposed to flex. It gives the car more grip.

Cheers

Default Sydney Nitro GP

Ric Bartolozzi`s RRR took out 2nd place in the A final of the Sydney Nitro GP yesterday......congrats to Ric on an excellent result in what was a VERY VERY strong field.
All in all there werent a large number of RRR`s entered (Serpent 710`s seemed to be very popular, and the 1st place was taken out by Simon Nicholson`s HPI R40) but those that did all fared very well.
On a personal note, my RRR ran extemely and incurred no mechanical probs over the course of 6 heats and a 15 minute final.
An interesting point --- running the same engine used in my Factory Team NTC3, the RRR`s best lap time was 0.7sec`s faster than the NTC3, and over a 5 minute heat, the RRR was 1 lap + 9 seconds faster than the NTC3.....the car felt very consistent throughout racing.
Tyres of choice were 35 shore Power Tyres all round (ashphalt)....and these provided excellent grip and wear characteristics across the weekend.
Cheers
