Default TRAXXAS JATO 3.3 - NEED TIPS and HINTS

Hey everyone, I'm looking to purchase my first ever nitro kit. The Jato looks awesome and I'm reading that it is a really good entry kit.

Can anybody supply tips and hints for this beginner??

How about tools?? I've run electric cars for a few years now so I have most of the basic stuff.

Thanks! Cant wait till this badboy gets here!!

I use an electric driver with driver bits on all my cars
makes it easier to work on them

you probably want to always have new glow plugs

fresh fuel

air filter oil

and of course extra parts

Thanks Edgar,

Yea new glow plugs will be a definite must plus filters and filter oil.

What are the best glow plugs to use, the 3202? Doesnt get as hot but lasts longer, or the 3202x i think it is? Last even longer?

33% Nitro should be good right? Thats what Traxxas recomends in addtiion to being the only nitro to use for the rest of the life of the engine.

I prefer O'donnell plugs. #89, #99, or the "Sport" plugs (Red, Blue, Purple). Never had a TRX 3.3, but the 2.5 i had didnt seem to ever like keeping TRX or OS plugs alive.

33% nitro is fine. I run 30% in all my stuff. Dont HAVE to use Traxxas' fuel... just make sure whatever fuel you run has a quality oil in it.

Jato's have definetely proven to be a platform capable of alot.. like going 93mph. I would have built one myself... but they are way to common these days.
