Default will my 1/10 fit on a 1/8 starter box?

Will my 1/10 on-road car fit on a 1/8 starter box? do i really need to buy a universal box to use with my 1/8 buggy and 1/10 onroad car?

Depends which way the engine is mounted and how wide the flywheel gap is.
