Default Receiver Battery enough

The serpent 710 takes a specific receiver battery configuration using 5-AAA positioned under the fuel tank. Since I am forced to use the AAA, I was wonder if of you know if a 700mah NiMh AAA will complete a 45 minute main. Anyone know the average current draw of a normal servo and digitals?.

If the brake points and the steering EPAs are correct, they should be OK for 45 minute main on analog servos.

I believe everyone tries to get 800 mAH rated AAA Sanyo or GP cells for their receiver packs.

I'm running an Impulse pro with this 700 mAh pack using analogue servos, I have actually managed to make a whole club level one day race (with training, qual's, and three 15 min finals) without recharing it!

700mAh shouldn't be the problem for 45 mins

MrChan, I have heard that some guys down in SG are using Kokum lithium polymer batteries as receiver packs. Are they any good? I know that Kokum batteries are used on RC planes.

1 Cell of LiPo is 700 with 3.6 V ..So you need 2 cells ..the V = 7.2
You will need the transformer to change V to be 6 V. , You will able to use for Receiver . it lighter than normal 5 cells pack about 30g.

I don't know because i haven't use it yet but people told me that with 700mAh, you will be able to last for 1hr ++

Just imagine you mobile phone ....700mAh with 3.6V ...How many day you could turn on ur mobile phone ?

How big is the transformer? Will the whole thing be heavier?

You're right. My slim LiPolymer battery rated 600 mAH for my old Ericsson T39 will last me 6 days with moderate usage and on standaby mode 24/7.

They should be the same as anybody's receiver pack using 700 mAH Sanyo or GP AAA cells. Speedmind just packages them in the receiver pack configuration to be specifically used on the MTX-3.

How many amps do you charge your receiver pack? What charger brand do you use to charge it with?

It 's very small ........lighter than put AAA about 30g

Compare with AAA 700mAh ..the Li will last longer ..almost double.

Charger is Schulze Charger. See from www.hobbylink.com.sg
