Default NTC3 Clutch Question

So I have been lurking around this forum for a while and have learned a lot, however, some of what I have learned confused me, so this is why I am asking this question.

I just recieved a new Picco XP-12S engine. The Picco has a collet that comes with it, however, I have read that I should use the collet that comes with the kit. I have two that I got with the lutch when I bought the car off of ebay. One is brass (short), the other is darker colored(longer). The only problem is that they seem to move a lot when I put them on the engine shaft.

What should I do????

Thanks ahead of time for all your help.

So I just installed the clutch with the Picco collet on it but because it is so long I put about 4-5 shims between the SG shaft and the clutch screw. There is no binding and it spins freely.

Will this work?

I didn't have to use any with mine, but as long as there is no binding it should be fine.

Just give that a try, the CORRECT collet on NTC3 with ANY SG crank engine (or standard I believed)...is the SHORT GOLD one..
That is the one that came with the kit...
Before you use other collet or the black one that came with the engine, you should use this SHORT GOLDEN one first...

p.s....a note for yourself, all the collet (the back one) that came with the engine are NOT suppose to use it on the car, it is something that came with the engine for no reason at all, the right(correct) collet should MATCH the FLYWHEEL that you are using....it is not universal. For examepl, use short golden colet from the NTC3 kit to match your NTC3 non pull or pull flywheel...

The tapered shape inside the flywheel will match your collet.

lacrossemen,
The picco shaft is smaller than the nova, sirio, etc, so you have to use the picco collet, it should fit perfectly. I use to have one in my ntc3.

THAT, I didn't know...............learn 1 more thing today....I didn't know Picco's shaft's diameter is smaller then other SG crank, but if that is the case, how could PICCO create a collet that will fit all the cars in the market when NTC3 is using a shorter, more tapered collet compare to the others like mugen/serpent that is very much standard...
