Default Clutch that turns rear dif into Spool?

In the new Xtreme Rc mag, there is a mention that the new mugen prototype has a rear dif that has a kind of clutch that when at speed locks and turns in to a spool. Does anyone know anything about this? Sounds very interesting and new, but opinions on pros and cons?

It works just like the Kawahara Neg Diff. The finger-type clutch will engage and lock the diff case at high speed; hence, the solid axle action. At slow speed, the clutch will not engage; thus, the bevel gears work as normal diff operation.

So at low speeds, which tends to be in turns, it will have the advantage of more traction, but at speed, it has power for straights, etc.? Is my thinking correct?
