NTC3 Fuel Tank Problem - K Factory Low CG
I have a NTC3 that has been giving me problems. I'm running a OS Max .12TR turbo head. I thought it was the engine but I have taken it apart, cleaned and sealed everything and it seems to run great as long as I don't let it load up.
What it does is start flaming out whenever it gets to about 1/3 tank, sometimes a little more. The fuel and pressure lines are new. I noticed when it is running the pressure and vibration has the fuel bubbling and foaming quite a bit. It seems when it gets down to about 1/3 tank or so the fuel flow becomes inconsistent. If I get on it slowly it may be ok but if I go full throttle it may just start to rev then die. It will start right back up and then do the same thing.
If I fill the tank up and restart it, everything is fine! So I know the problem is with the fuel flow once the tank gets between 1/2 and 1/3. I am using the K Factory low CG tank.
Anyone have this problem? I am thinking maybe I should just buy a stock tank and see if that fixes the problem, but I do like the K Factory low CG tank. I don't know if it's the tank or too much pressure from the pipe causing all the bubbling and foaming or what. But like I said, when the tank is full, it screams!
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I have heard about guys using small foam rings under the ntc3 tanks in addition to the rubber O rings to dampen the engine vibrations , and eliminate bubbles inside the tank ! Also do not overtighten the tank screws : the tank should be able to rock a little .....

Thanks for the tips. I used some shock o-rings under the mounting points, maybe they don't absorb enough vibration. I loosened them up but it won't rock, if I go any looser I think they will vibrate out. I have some foam, I may try cutting some pieces of that to see if it absorbs more vibration. Thanks!

Turns out the tank was bad even though I pressure tested and could find no leaks. I replaced it with a stock NTC3 tank and the problem is completely gone! The only thing I can guess is maybe the pickup was partially blocked or the line between the pickup and fitting inside the tank had a problem that caused inconsistent fuel delivery.
But in any case the old tank was causing all the weird symptoms and random flame outs.
