Yes, it's a pretty good size, and we have run 8th scale on-road classes in the past, but there haven't been any here recently. I disabled mine to run the electronics in the Mayhem I recently picked up. 8th scale buggy is the biggest local class(I race at B&T in Ft Walton, about 40 miles East of Pensacola), they're loads of fun and very plentiful, so I went that route.

I still run 10th scale nitro and electric touring at the Pensacola track, good competition, and several classes to choose from. They're already planning another trophy race, since this last one was so successful.

I don't remember the exact size, something like 180 ft by 60-70 or so ft. There's and outside oval, for the pan and late model cars, and a touring pattern in the middle for all the other classes. We have had pretty good turn outs recently, and racing at night means the heat isn't so bad.

Here are some pics from a good race a few years ago:

Ft Walton? I used to live there not too long ago, at Eglin AFB. I really miss that place. I don't remember there being any r/c racing when I was there. But that was back in 1995-1997. I'm jealous!

there is no new ntc4 coming out because 1/10th nitro on-road is too competitive. there are soo many cars to choose from (g4, rrr, mtx-4) that just to break even, associated would have to sell a lot of kits!

they are however releasing a new tc5 electric car which will be belt drive not shaft.however i don't know when it is due to hit the hobby shops.

I have to agree with ae_ntc3 on this one. The 1/10 tc market is too competitive right now. And since AE's market is more in the RTR area I don't see see them releasing a new nitro car. Honestly I think it's a smart move.
But I have to say the Ntc3 was and still is a hell of a car. It taught me a lot alot and it also broke my heart. but all in all it's my favorite car.

JetMD, The off road track is at B&T, on PLayground rd, next to Pryer Middle school, right there off of Racetrack Rd. I don't know how long it's been there, but the turnout is always good.

You guys may be right about a new nitro car from AE. Even though the NTC3 2 is a great RTR, they should continue evolve it as well. I suppose we'll just have to wait.

For me, that is a good news...........it is not a perfect car, but does WIN races for me, that is a good car....
i know this is splitting hairs but it has been a lot longer than 6 months. i bought my first ft ntc-3 spring or summer of 2004.
i don't know if a new one is coming out soon but it is about time for the change.
